Who Is Rocky Bleier?

Born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, Rocky Bleier was a standout football player at the University of Notre Dame. With a National Championship under his belt, Rocky declared for the NFL draft and was a late-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Following his rookie year in 1968, Rocky was again drafted. This time, by the United States Army, to serve in the Vietnam War. While serving, Rocky suffered grisly injuries that would reshape his life and leave his professional football career in jeopardy. Through hard work and perseverance, Rocky fought his way back to lead a storied career that saw him collect 4 Super Bowl wins and induction into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Rocky is a member of the Congressional Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War and the Purple Heart Foundation, Warriors to Citizens Foundation, serves on the board of The National Flag Foundation, and started the Rocky Bleier Golf Tournament to support Veterans Village in Appleton, Wisconsin.
