An Expanded Tour Schedule for WWETT Show 2019

In 2018, the WWETT Show  partnered with Citizen's Energy Group of Indianapolis to offer Technical Tours to WWETT Show attendees. We are pleased to offer these again for 2019, and we've expanded the menu!

This year, three tours are being offered. Here are descriptions for each.

Deep Rock Tunnel Pump Station   (NOTE: This tour is Sold Out)
Friday | February 22, 2019 | 12:30pm

You will be touring the Deep Rock Tunnel Pump Station, which went into service on December 29, 2017.  Citizens Energy Group (Citizens) has constructed an underground storage tunnel for wet weather storage of combined sewer overflows.  The 270 million gallon storage tunnel is approximately 250 feet underground, 28 miles long and scheduled to be fully in service in 2025.  The first section of the tunnel is 10 miles long, holds 90 million gallons, and was in service in December 2017.

The Deep Rock Tunnel Pump Station is also 250 feet underground and includes four, 30 MGD pumps that will pump wastewater from the storage tunnel to Citizens’ Southport Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Belmont Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant
Friday | February 22, 2019 | 1:45pm

The next tour is to the Secondary Treatment System and Control Room at the Belmont Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Plant has a capacity of 300 million gallons per day (MGD) and accepts flows from a combined sewer system.

The secondary treatment system includes an air nitrification system installed in 2012 and an oxygen nitrification system that was constructed in 1967. The oxygen nitrification system was converted to an air nitrification system in 2012 and expanded to handle wet weather flows of 300 MGD.

In The Round Dewatering Facility
Friday | February 22, 2019 | 1:00pm

This tour is being presented in conjunction with In The Round Dewatering. ITR Dewatering uses proven technology to provide quick and easy dewatering solutions. Be sure and visit theim at booth #1521 in the Marketplace Expo.

During the tour you will see alternative wastewater disposal solutions.  Treatment plants and/or land applications are not the only means of disposing of wastewater. AA Septic Service is utilizing a small municipal sewer plant and a dewatering drum from ITR Dewatering to process wastewater simply and affordably.

If you are thinking about starting your own processing plant or just interested in alternative solutions for wastewater disposal, this tour is for you.
